Description
What is it?
This is an expansion board (or ‘hexpansion’) for the ‘Tildagon’ badge sold at Electromagnetic Field 2024. This board breaks out the GPIO available on the expansion connector, and has some unconnected pins for soldering your own creations on to. It’s a great way to prototype new hexpansions!
Why did you make it?
After the event, I really wanted to play around with my badge more, and particularly connect some stuff up to it. The PCBs for the badge require an ENIG finish, which makes it more expensive to get PCBs produced compared to normal, so this is a much cheaper method to try out things that may not work. I bought a few extras as they didn’t cost much extra to see how well they go down.
Technical Details
This board has a rail at the top for getting power, and a rail at the bottom for ground. There is a header to the left of the board which breaks out all of the available connections. The rest of the pins are completely unconnected. To create circuits either solder small wires to the bottom, or bridge pads together.
The board has 10 pins across and 14 pins down – 140 in total. 20 pins make up the breakout, 10 make up the 3v3 rail and 10 make up the ground rail, leaving 110 free.
Additional Details
Only the expansion board is included with your order, not the badge as well.
